This is my first doodle, as a long covid sufferer now - nearly 14 weeks and counting - I thought I would start a doodle a day. My energy is low, so they are basically thirty minutes or so. This started as a crow, but I think it is more like a blackbird. For those who are just visiting, I'm so happy to meet you. Do get in touch on the contact page, or leave a comment on the blog. See ya tomorrow, for another doodle. Thanks for your support, and you can always buy me a coffee to keep me in pencils at Ko-fi
Birdie Birdie Day two. Another birdie birdie. I am sticking to 30minutes or so, so stopped once I'd done the head. Just so I don't tire myself out. I'm hoping to build to more as I get better, but have to conserve energy. I love drawing eyes. I'm on a huge learning curve. But the eyes are windows into the soul
Heart Bird Day Four of the 'Doodle a Day' challenge. This time I drew a heart bird. I put it up on Redbubble. Had fun drawing it as it took me away from the chores of the day. Happy days. Cx
Beautiful Dog Day Five of 'Doodle a Day' and this time it was easy. As I opened my iPad I had a gorgeous dog who shares our home asleep next to me. So I drew what I saw. I really enjoyed this one, as it came to me really quickly. Probably ten minutes, but I feel like I caught something of her. Cx
Midsummer Common Crow Here is a crow that I sketched today and put up on Redbubble. I enjoyed drawing this crow. Because it is wild, I played with the words in case it makes a nice T-shirt or sticker. Cxx
Cambridge Swan My doodle today is of a swan. I took inspiration from the swans on the River Cam, which I see daily when I walk the dog. I love how they glide and drift by effortlessly. I am going to do a few drawings about Cambridge, as I am also the author of The Cambridge Murder Mysteries, which are a series of murder mystery novels set in the city.
I'll Crow If I Want To Another doodle. This time I drew a digital crow. I've put it up onRedbubblefor now. Not sure anyone will want it, but in case. I enjoyed using blue in the design. The joy of digital art is you can muck about and delete stuff. Unlike paint! It took me under an hour to draw and upload, so I'm pretty happy with the result and how it looks on this cushion. Also enjoying this challenge. Very hard to find the time!
I have been trying out acrylics for the first time, mainly because I love the artist Fletcher Prentice and if I could afford one of his paintings for my living room I would buy it in a flash. But I can't. So here is a shout out to him, with a link to his website. Am sure he has no idea who I am, so this is not an advert! Fletcher Prentice. Anyway, I have been trying to paint more nature and learn about putting paint on canvas. It is hard! But very enjoyable. I have put this painting on my stairs for now.
I started a painting, it is a homage to a painting by Nik Bristow that used to hang on the wall of my childhood home. I miss it very much, so started to paint it. I will post this again once I finish the painting. I'm taking a small break while I do some doodles for Moobear and Spike.
